Can you offer a life long commitment to a needy Ragdoll Cat? The UKRCC has Ragdoll cats seeking new families, right now.We are currently seeking suitable families for needy older Ragdolls. Before contacting us, please consider carefully whether rehoming an older Ragdoll really is for you. We particularly need adopters who are willing to dedicate the time their new Ragdoll companion needs to settle into their new home and accept any health problems or 'baggage' that the Ragdoll may have. If you are looking for a kitten or very young Ragdoll, then we are unlikely to be able to help you, as the majority of Ragdolls we work with are middle aged or older. Offering a home to a needy Ragdoll is a rewarding experience and most Ragdolls will repay the love they are given many times over, but they do need total dedication and life long commitment. We do receive many adoption enquiries, but we are looking for very specific homes and cannot guarantee that everyone contacting us will be lucky enough to adopt a Ragdoll through us. Adopting is not a method of gaining a cheap pedigree cat. If you are looking for a 'perfect and baggage free' Ragdoll of specific colour, pattern, gender and age, you may be better to contact a breeder. Please Note: It is in the nature of all rehoming and rescue that many of the cats involved will be in poor condition and may require veterinary attention. In all cases where the cats come into the care of the UKRCC, we will ensure they are health checked, neutered, vaccinated, given preventative flea and worm treatment and receive any other veterinary care needed. In the case of cats who are rehomed from their original owner to the adopter, without coming into the care of the UKRCC, while we endeavour to gain a full history from the owner, regards general health, vaccination status, condition of coat etc. we cannot guarantee that you will receive a cat that does not require some veterinary attention when it arrives to you. Often cats are rehomed needing vaccinations, dematting, dentals etc. In these cases the UKRCC are committed to offering emotional support to the adopters and to contributing towards or reimbursing the full costs incurred. However, while we work very hard to establish as much information about every cat as is possible, we cannot be held responsible for any poor health of the cat. We only know what the original owners tell us. Rehoming a rescue Ragdoll requires an emotional and financial commitment from the adopter and is not a cheap way to gain a pedigree cat. If you require a ‘perfect cat’, which has a health guarantee, then please source your Ragdoll from a reputable breeder. If you feel you can help us by offering an older Ragdoll a safe, loving home, please complete our online adoption application form here. Is the Ragdoll Cat the right breed for you and your family? If you have been researching Ragdolls, you are likely to have visted many websites and read much about the history of the breed and the typical Ragdoll temperament. If you read nothing else today, please take the time to visit the following link and read what it is really like living with a Ragdoll cat. Seasoned Ragdoll owners share their experiences, in an honest, humerous way and it really is the very best insight into being owned by a Ragdoll, that you will find, anywhere else on the internet.
